Pratt & Whitney is looking for a motivated, ambitious individual to join our Turbine Aerodynamics organization. Responsibility will include HPT and LPT aerodynamic design of flowpaths and airfoils, with extensive use of meanline and 3D steady and time-accurate CFD. Consideration of multi-discipline concerns for airfoil cooling, design and structural impacts is required. In addition, detailed component performance evaluation during engine validation testing will be required. Responsibility also includes defining and executing analytical and experimental studies, for cascades and rotating rigs, to support technology development. The position involves leading a team in the aerodynamic design of an advanced, high-performance turbine. Frequent opportunities to document and present technical material to design teams, senior leadership and executives to drive informed decisions will be required.

Qualification:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • 6+ years of experience related to Turbine Aerodynamics and proficient in fundamental turbine aerodynamics and turbomachinery, and experienced using advanced computational tools such as time-accurate 3D CFD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or PhD preferred in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • You will have experience in aeromechanics and high cycle fatigue drivers.

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams

  • Excellent analytical skills with detail-oriented focus

  • Experience with Linux OS and programming in Matlab​
