We have a rare opportunity for a Specialist, Accounting & Controls, Manufacturing, to be based in E. Hartford, CT.

This position supports the Manufacturing Operations Accounting function within the P&W Group Controller’s Organization. Manufacturing Accounting is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate accumulation, distribution and output of manufacturing cost for Commercial and Military engines and spare parts. This position will provide the opportunity to gain understanding of the complexities of large volume OEM operations cost accounting in support of a growing business. This position presents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to gain skills and knowledge in SAP, including the ZPD (pegging and distribution) cost accounting module.

Specific activities include:

  • Perform accounting and reporting activities for P&W’s Industrial Engine Business (PWINDE)

  • Maintain P&W’s cost allocation/assessment rules in SAP and monitor during month-end closing

  • Analyze applied vs. actual fringe benefit costs; prepare fringe rate plan and forecast

  • Support SAP time and attendance function including audits to ensure compliance with policy

  • Coordinate and prepare month-end closing package for Day 4 Manufacturing Accounting closing meeting

  • Perform testing of key controls as required by SOX and MMAS (Material Management & Accounting System)

  • Maintain and enhance standard work and system documentation

  • Utilize the ACE tools to improve business processes

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 2+ years in Accounting or Finance

  • 1+ years of experience working with SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SAP Business Warehouse is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Energetic self-starter

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education: Bachelors degree in Finace or Accounting required.
