We have a rare opportunity for a Senior Manager, Supplier Performance and Development role at our East Hartford, CT Campus.
Our team fosters an internal environment that thrives on utilization of the UTC ACE operating system, while coaching and supporting suppliers to ensure they meet our TAT (Turn-around Time) KPI metrics, and achieve success in their lean journey.
Other responsibilities of the organization include driving on-time delivery, supplier health assessment, quality, TAT escalation processes for the entire aftermarket supply chain value stream.
This role will support legacy and GTF performance.
You will be responsible to set up this brand new department.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
You will have to establish the organization, own Accenture support, OTD data, reporting, escalation processes and supplier capacity.
The position is also key to assist suppliers on achieving gold level performance.
You would be involved in setting up the organization to also provide training and coaching for new suppliers.
Ability to assess cell design, capacity assessment, equipment maintenance, EH&S issues, and shop cleanliness.
Supplier performance also works to improve the relationship between Pratt & Whitney and the supplier by improving the communications, minimizing the number of outside visits, catalyst for additional business opportunities, and reducing financial risks.
Perform assessments of the suppliers capability to perform and sustain performance through the SHA (Supplier Health Assessment)
Engage with the supplier to develop action plan Supplier Customer Improvement Plan (SCIP) to close the gaps between current state and gold level performance.
Track SCIP and drive closure to reach gold level.
Conduct training and coaching on-site at the supplier to develop their team
Follow-up with the commodity management and account management on any turnbacks or supplier performance.
Establish leading indicators of performance and track weekly, on-site at supplier
Intervene as required to expedite deliveries and/or resolve quality issues
Experience in aftermarket Quality, FAR 145 shops and/or Continuous Improvement roles
Strong Leadership skills and a demonstrated track record of accomplishment in business performance using ACE tools
ACE Certification Program (ACP) Associate required; Practitioner Operations preferred, Business Process Practitioner optional
Highly effective standout colleague able to develop and sustain team dedication and ownership
Hands on experience with strong structured project management and analytical skills in using ACE tools
Ability to work and communicate with the entire workforce - from convincing a shop floor operator to try a new work sequence to having strategic discussions with both PW supply chain team and supplier leadership team about overall approach and focus for Supplier Gold
Self-motivated, high energy individual that can act with little guidance
Ability to initiate, lead and sustain change activities at the supplier
Highly adaptable person
Six-Sigma Black Belt or Greenbelt
UTC SHA certified assessor preferred
ITC / BAER experience
You are a US Citizen due to government contracts - must have or willing to obtain a US Passport
- BS degree in Mechanical Manufacturing, Industrial Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management or related field required.
A minimum of 7 years of with Supplier and/or customer facing experience
A minimum of 6 years Aftermarket or Operations experience
A minimum of 5 years of Continuous improvement experience in Six-Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt
ITC / BAER experience preferred
