Responsibilities:

As part of the System Admin Team, you are responsible for server administration.

Do you have the following experience to be successful?

Your key focus areas will include, but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for core software and some engineering application installations in order to meet the computing needs of engineering projects

  • Handle projects utilizing standard project management tools and methodologies

  • Responsible for ongoing customer communications and updates to project status

  • Document process improvements and standard work processes for Linux & HPC environments

  • Research and resolve problems as well as make recommendations for process improvements and evaluating future technologies & strategies aimed at improving the Linux and HPC compute environments

  • This position may require occasional after-hours support

  • Imaging, supporting, and integrating High Performing Computing (HPC) clusters and servers running Red Hat Enterprise LINUX (RHEL) in a non-standard engineering environment

  • Are you a strong troubleshooter? We need you to handle troubleshooting, scheduling, and installation of engineering applications

  • You will analyze and handle complex projects supporting customer initiatives. You will be assisting customers and IT resources at varying levels of the organization

  • We are looking for an innovator with confirmed strategy development and project implementation skills, and a strong leader with some experience leading teams

  • We need you to use good judgment, collaborate, multi-task, and timely manage numerous projects effectively

  • Participate in process improvement efforts

  • Partner with other subject matter professionals to ensure success

  • You will provide after-hours support as needed for scheduled off-hour maintenance, timely remediation of emergency situations and problem resolution

  • 10% Travel

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Security Clearance

  • U.S. Citizen. Due to program requirements

  • 5+ years of Linux System Admin experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree

  • General networking skills - IP network design, InfiniBand.

  • Experience working on isolated networks

  • Knowledge of the Internetworking services: DNS, DHCP, NIS, NFS, Samba, SSH, NTP, HTTP, etc

  • Storage Architectures: SAN, SAS, SATA, Bandwidth, Performance & backup -

  • Red Hat Certified Systems ( RHCSA / RHCSE ), or equivalent (LPIC) Security+ and/or Certified Information Systems Security Practitioner (CISSP) AIX / IBM CSA Desired skills

  • Experience with Ansible and Configuration Management Automation

  • Ability to understand application scaling issues related to problem resolution

  • Handle the development of appropriate application benchmarks, analyze results and resolve optimal configurations for processor type/speed, size of memory/cache, and memory interconnect fabric for customer problem domains

  • Familiarity with IBM Platform LSF scheduler

  • Knowledge of secure collaboration techniques

  • Craft clear and extensive documentation on system administration procedures for routine and complex tasks

  • Provide direction on solutions as it pertains to Root Cause Corrective Action reports

  • Creative troubleshooting skills

  • Compile information and provide creative solutions

You will be required to obtain the following c ertifications (current or achieved within 6 months of employment)

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent

Security+ and/or Certified Information Systems Security Practitioner (CISSP), or equivalent

Education:
