A rare opportunity exists to join us in the role of Repair Development Engineer at our East Hartford, CT campus.

We’re searching for a Repair Development Engineer (RDE) to help us guide the future of our business here at Connecticut Stators and Components (CTSC). In this role you will be responsible for a variety of projects supporting the introduction of new technology and new products to our factory; you'll work with the leadership team to expand and evolve CTSC’s capabilities to support a growing MRO marketplace, providing exposure to both strategic business-decision making as well as in-depth technical evaluations.

You will be responsible for the industrialization of all new repairs on next generation product (GTF), complex repair development on legacy product and introduction of technologies that will strengthen our competitive advantage.

You will partner with cell engineers, Global Services Engineering, Program Managers, Engineering (CIPT) leadership, procurement, and a variety of other functions and specialists to ensure new products/technologies are introduced in accordance with local repair station and P&W procedures.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• You will create and execute project business cases and implementation plans • Integrate key resources associated with repair development (GSE, MPE, Engineering, Customer Service, Program Management)

• You will develop process plans and operation work instructions for the shop floor.

• Execution of repair process standard work associated with new product development (R reviews, UPPAP, Process Certification, etc.)

• You will serve as the internal and external focal point for all communications for repair development

• You will analyze key business unit metrics (scrap rates, COPQ) and develop proposals for future cost savings or process improvement repair initiatives

• Must be a US Citizen due to government contracts.

Basic Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing or equivalent fields is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years minimum prior experience in repair process engineering and/or aerospace will enable applicants to transition into this role more quickly.

• Proven experience in managing complex projects/programs.

• A strong desire to learn and have the technical skill to drive operations, rapid problem solving and continuous improvement, and automation of equipment and process concepts for external candidates is highly desirable.

• You will work with all levels of management, shop personnel and partners, and can speak confidently and tailor explanations and presentations to the audience as appropriate.

• You can demonstrate strong leadership skills, analytical thinking and strong customer focus.

• Familiarization with P&W Engine Manuals, Standard Practice Manuals and Technical Orders or equivalent is helpful.

• Knowledge of military and commercial products / parts is preferred.

• Knowledge of source demonstration/repair source approval a plus.

• CTSC is an FAA regulated facility and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment.

Education:

• A Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering and/or Materials Science is required.
