Pratt & Whitney’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization is responsible for working collaboratively with suppliers across the globe to ensure the timely delivery of affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. Our team fosters an internal environment that thrives on utilization of the UTC ACE operating system, while coaching and supporting the supply base to ensure they meet our quality standards and achieve success in their lean journey. Other responsibilities of the organization include negotiating long-term agreements driving cost reduction, optimizing inventory and flow and purchasing parts for new development programs.

The GSC organization is looking for an Associate Director, responsible for leading the procurement process for indirect raw materials. Indirect raw material refers to the castings and forgings our finished parts suppliers buy directly from their raw material sources. This role will interface with the value streams in all Module Centers to develop a process to improve the management of indirect raw materials within the finished parts supply base.

Key Job deliverables:

  • Develop and implement process within the Module Centers that ensures adequate PO coverage with raw materials suppliers. Establish meeting cadences and reports to aid with communications.

  • Work with Module Centers to ensure leading indicators are being monitored and identifying risks.

  • Implement an escalation process to be followed by the Module Centers for critical hardware. Identify key business risks and escalate accordingly.

  • Develop a strong alignment with Strategic Sourcing to ensure indirect raw material parts are on LTAs with the appropriate sources.

  • Develop process that ensures finished part sources are procuring raw materials off of PW LTAs, at correct market share splits.

  • Collaborate with the Raw Materials value streams to ensure alignment on leading indicators, critical needs and coordinated communications with the raw material supply base.

  • Identify cost reduction opportunities for parts that are not currently being sourced of raw material LTAs.

  • Interface with Module Centers and Product Chiefs on key recovery plans.

  • Ensure Export Control Compliance

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in operations, supply chain and/or program management

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations, Management, Supply Chain Managment or related field.

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong ability in decision making, business judgment and delivering results

  • Good understanding of PW quality and engineering specifications.

  • Extensive experience in a procurement and/or manufacturing environment. Leadership experience and strong influencing skills preferred.

  • Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required

  • This position requires direct interface with executive level staff throughout the Pratt & Whitney Operations organization. Additionally, it involves the same direct contact with Supplier executive staffs.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.

Advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred.
