The Process Chemistry Group in Pratt & Whitney’s Materials and Processes Engineering Department is seeking a skilled chemical technician to work with chemists and chemical engineers on projects related to process/product development and testing and assessing chemical processes. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team and independently following P&W established procedures and standard work. Candidate should be familiar with working protocols in a chemical laboratory

Responsibilities

  • Assist process chemists and chemical engineers on current projects

  • Conduct testing and measurements per standard procedures

  • Coordinate laboratory equipment service

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and perform regular alignment checks

  • Perform troubleshooting, minor repairs

Qualification: 0-5+ years experience in an laboratory environment.

Strong data analysis skills

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Chemical and Mechanical hands-on aptitude

Experience working in chemistry laboratory environment

US Citizenship is required for this position.

Must be a strong verbal and written communicator with good customer skills. Must function effectively in a lab environment with people of a broad variety of skills and backgrounds. Must be able to balance several assignments at once.

Education: Associate’s Degree in a technical field
