P&W’s Materials and Processes Engineering (MPE) Department is seeking Discipline Chief in the area of Process and Applied Chemistry. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience in metal paints and primers, dry film lubricants, metal anodizing, electro-plating and associated pre-treatment processes. The Process and Applied Chemistry Discipline Chief (DC) role is a hybrid assignment that carries both discipline practitioner and DC responsibilities. DC responsibilities include leading the creation, maintenance, and implementation of Engineering Standard Work (ESW), establishing and applying proficiency progression matrices, assessing discipline health in terms of resource, proficiency, and succession planning in the context of business need, developing a strategy for advancing the discipline including leading the creation or updating of the discipline’s technology roadmap, mentoring practitioners, and reviewing and approving work. The candidate will also have practitioner responsibilities which include planning and executing hands-on projects and technologies relating to new materials and processes for both OEM and MRO engine applications; providing Applied Chemistry technical support to P&W’s manufacturing and repair operations; and fielding questions relating to surface finishing of engine hardware. Knowledge of jet engine materials and cleaning, manufacturing, and repair processes is a plus.

8 years of experience with etching, stripping and anodizing

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree with 5 years of work expereince

PhD degree with 3 years experience.

Education: Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering, or Chemistry.
