We have a rare opportunity for a hardworking Global Transitions Project MSC Manager based in East Hartford, CT

You will be responsible for the overall planning, management, and completion of work transition projects supporting a wide variety of business units and commodities to increase manufacturing capability and capacity. Works with Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers to ensure project scope of work aligns with transition documents: job ticket, technical reviews, licensing documents, and project plans. Uses project management skills to lead projects, identify resource requirements, meet training needs, define project deliverables, provide customer satisfaction, and insure quality of projects. Identifies the technical approach used on a given project and leads the system development process. Ensures effective communications and relationships between suppliers and project team members are maintained.

Project Managers may be focused in specific commodities or functional program areas where specific subject matter expertise is important.

Specific job details:

  • Works with supplier to identify and coordinate development needs for transitioned parts.

  • Works with appropriate strategic sourcing and procurement representatives to develop project business cases and overlap plans in support of project scope in accordance with Transition Standard Work.

  • Provides team leadership on individual projects. Insures matrixed team is aligned to meet project goals with schedule, quality, and cost deliverables.

  • Coordinates technical reviews, process family matrices, and contract reviews to mitigate risks to ensure on-time part delivery. Reviews include: Business Cases, Long Term Agreements (LTA), First Article Inspection Review (FAIR), Engineering First Piece Review (EFPR), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) review, and all PW requirements for Qualified Supplier List (QSL) and Qualified Parts List (QPL).

  • Assigns, schedules, reviews, and monitors project work to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines and is completed on time and within budget.

  • Ensures project reporting structures and frequency of supplier interaction are established and maintained.

  • Identifies, tracks, monitors, and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies that may arise during the implementation. Facilitates amicable solutions with the appropriate supplier(s) and complies with all procurement requirements in doing so.

  • Facilitates and documents opportunities to integrate process improvements with suppliers and resources to fulfill project requirements.

  • Prepares and presents oral and/or written technical reports and project presentations.

  • Organizes and conducts project team meetings.

  • Utilizes project management tools to plan and track transitions to completion.

  • Insures International Trade Compliance (ITC) requirements and licensing for products being transitioned are satisfied and in alignment with all Import and Export requirements as understood through ITC.

  • Actively manages projects utilizing Transition Standard Work (TSW) guidelines*Experience / Qualifications:

  • Travel Required: 30%

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Management, Economics, Supply Chain, Operations or Engineering

  • 7+ years manufacturing experience working in an aerospace environment

  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP preferred

  • Practical ACE/Six Sigma/ UPPAP experience a plus

  • Project management and team leader experience

  • Highly motivated and a self-starter with a strong desire to succeed and pursue continued growth and developmental opportunities

  • Detail and results oriented with good problem solving skills

  • Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities

  • High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement

  • Excellent Judgment and professional maturity

  • Ability to create positive relationships and craft clear communication

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization

  • Computer skills- Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project
