Business Analytics & Data Sciences (BADS) is a key team within Pratt & Whitney Digital Technology with a mission of providing Enterprise Analytics as a Service. The BADS team has a broad mandate including the calculating and publishing of company-wide metrics, utilizing statistics, AI and machine learning techniques towards the development of forward looking predictive metrics, the implementation of analytical digital tools, and supporting data management activities. This team touches all areas of the business, and is a great opportunity for analytical-minded students to get a real understanding of how a large manufacturing company like Pratt & Whitney functions and how modern analytics techniques are changing the manufacturing landscape.

As a Data Sciences Intern on the BADS team you will be working with a team of professionals on predictive or prescriptive analytics projects. You will have opportunity to experience multiple aspects of the analytics development cycle, including data harvesting and transformation, model generation, and working with the business customer to understand requirements and to facilitate model deployment. You will also have opportunity to work with other areas of the group including descriptive analytics, data management, and platform management. This is a high performance, highly collaborative team, and successful candidates will be highly motivated, team-oriented individuals that are interested in using data to drive change.

Qualification: Candidates must be self-motivated with the ability to learn on the fly, be able to work effectively as part of a team, have strong analytical and communications skills, and be proficient in coding and with analytics tools or languages such as MatLab, R, or Python. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. Preferred candidates will be familiar with SQL and database concepts, be experienced with multiple analytical tools and methods, and have exposure to supply chain or manufacturing concepts.

Education:

Candidates must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. GPA of 3.4 or higher is required.
