The Adaptive Engine Programs team is developing Pratt & Whitney’s family of next generation fighter engines. The Adaptive Engines Program Office is seeking a strong leader to serve as Business Operations Manager and support world-class operations across multiple engine development programs. In this role, you will lead in significant projects with large, complex teams and manage the unique business elements of government contract activities. This role will be dynamic, requiring a flexible leadership style to adjust to changing business needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities will be:

  • Internal financial management (capital, overhead budgets and associated projects),

  • Security infrastructure (including serving as the Information System Owner) and

  • Overall management of the physical and business process footprint of Adaptive Engine Programs activities across multiple sites.

Additional job duties include:

  • Cultivating positive relationships internally and with our external customers to support program success

  • Supporting the Program Director in leading the team to meet security and financial requirements, acting as the primary focal within the Program Office for a wide range of functional partners

  • Driving a culture of transparency and problem solving to address issues across organizations including identification and integration of all key partners

  • Ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements in well-organized and meticulous manner

  • Support the Adaptive Engines team, as needed, in fulfilling the requirements and intentions of the Integrated Product Deployment (IPD) process

  • Identify risks and develops appropriate mitigation plans for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Preparing and presenting periodic status reports on business activities to senior management and our customers

  • Author and submit key internal deliverables to P&W and Corporate partners for normal communication rhythms, compliance requirements and issue resolution

  • Contribute to business goals by applying advanced knowledge of project management

  • Develop, coach, and motivate others to perform

  • Working with marketing, engineering, product support, quality and operations organizations to help develop winning management, technical, and cost proposals

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS required

  • A degree in Science, Engineering, or Technical Degree preferred.

  • MA/MS with 7+ years of relevant experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 8+ years experience leading engineering or technical project teams

  • 7+ years in Aerospace and Defense or other highly regulated industry

  • 2+ years experience with defense contracting, EVMS, and Scheduling Tools

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active US Government Security Clearance Due to special contracts and program requirements

Preferred:

  • Project Management Certification or equivalent proficiency level - Proven track record of leading/supporting project(s) with significant scope - Results-oriented leadership and project management skills - Established ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization - Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills required - Clear and concise communicator - Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail - Ability to develop and present material to multi-functional teams - Active US Government Security Clearance
