This is a paid position and will begin June 1st and is Full Time – 40 hours a week . It will run through December 2020.

A stipend and/or housing allowance is offered to those who meet the eligibility requirements. Students are responsible for securing their own housing if needed.

Job Responsibilities:

You will benefit from working side by side with a talented and experienced group of professionals eager to mentor. Day to day activities can involve significant interaction with various functional groups such as Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and Quality, allowing for additional broad learning opportunities.

As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op at Collins Aerospace ISR & Space Solutions , you will be supporting implementation of the Operations Engineering department business objectives.

Tasks include:

  • Generating and updating manufacturing operation sheets/manufacturing routers

  • Reviewing/coordinating resolution of production issues

  • Developing and implementing process control metrics

  • Utilizing lean manufacturing principles to analyze and increase process capacity

  • Applying lean techniques in support of operations excellence Required:

  • Must be enrolled as a full time student preceding and following the assignment

  • GPA of 3.0 or above is required at both the time of application and start date

  • Due to contract requirements, this position is only available to US Citizens ( No Dual Citizenship)

  • May be exposed to chemicals and solvents

  • Will be required to move up to 30 pounds

  • Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., Safety Glasses, Smocks) in labs and clean rooms Education/Certifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Aerospace Engineering; other disciplines may be considered.It is preferred that you have completed the following courses of study with a minimum of 24 credits completed:

  • Basic Electrical / Circuit Design

  • Mechanical Design

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement

  • CAD and GD&T

  • Process control, time studies and capacity analysis
