Position Summary

You will become an expert on the company's solutions – how they work; how they enable our channel partners to profitably sell, install and service; and ultimately how they solve customer problems. The product portfolio is primarily for the Interlogix Intrusion business as it relates to the North America market. Products and solutions include intrusion panels, wired and wireless sensors, access control, smart home hardware and software solutions.

You will own, conceive, develop and action Voice of the Customer, value proposition, positioning, messaging and segmentation for our products.

While the Product Managers are focusing primarily on New Product Development, you will be the eyes and ears for what’s happening in the market – and will focus on understanding and maximizing sales potential for new and shipping product. You will also be on the look-out for new market growth opportunities.

You will possess deep analytical skills along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits for all customer personas.

You are equally adept at written and verbal communications – creating content with substance such as whitepapers and application notes, or presenting to Customer Advisory Boards, at customer conferences or webinars; or facilitating focus groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Value prop custodian- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market; Ensure this value prop is consistent across all customer touch-points including websites, documentation, etc. and is meaningful to appropriate customer personas; Define messaging for events (e.g., tradeshows, roadshows, partner conferences, etc.)

  • Product launch- Define theme and messaging; Create commercialization plan and drive collateral & sales tools production alongside marketing communications teams; You will also act as an individual contributor; drafting, writing, editing, tuning, and finalizing launch materials and product collateral

  • Ongoing customer communications- Own and drive monthly customer communications

  • Product Management advocate- Be the face of Product Management to the rest of the organization, and to external stakeholders; Communicate decisions and plans, and collaborate with other departments to deliver; Receive and act on feedback from other business areas

  • Annual Market Feedback Analysis- Ensure that Interlogix maximizes value from annual survey while meeting corporate requirements

  • User Groups- Be the primary point of contact & communication to Channel and End User Groups to both impart and extract knowledge

  • New Product development Tollgate processes- Input content into Passport reviews as required. Assist in requirements gathering and prioritization

  • Pricing- Work closely with the Product Managers, Pricing stakeholders including Finance, to bring a customer, market, competitor and product-centric perspective to decision-making; Collaborate on the development and implementation of new pricing models

  • Price list- Own and drive quarterly price book updates

  • Market intelligence- Keep profiles on our competitors – strengths & weaknesses, recent announcements, likely future actions and our response

  • Verticals- Produce compelling materials to speak directly to our customers in the Government, Healthcare, Utilities and Higher Education verticals

  • Product naming / branding- Be the Product Management champion to ensure we define and comply with a logical branding hierarchy and meet corporate guidelines and deadlines

Qualification:

  • Product Management or Product Marketing experience (preferably in high-tech / software)

  • Experience within a global business operation

  • Security industry experience desirable, but not required

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Engineering

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
