Develop and implement plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world-class technology portfolio
Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support our continuing growth and cost reduction targets
Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost to design and manufacture aerospace disk forgings
Assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigation using six-sigma lean principles and tools. Own RCCA (root cause corrective action) for correcting and mistake-proofing non-conformances in the part families.
Implement and monitor process certification to monitor and report on the health of the forge cell as it relates to our customers’ quality requirements
Monitoring the process controls on key process inputs that yield conforming hardware for military and commercial engines
Look for areas to optimize, automate, and trim waste to increase quality control, production throughput, and metallurgical integrity
Author and maintain clear, effective work instructions and standard work
Develop thermo-mechanical processes using statistical methods that meet or exceed the business objective for process and quality control.
Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures
Work with a team to ensure major capital project investments meet designed throughput and quality output requirements
Once process and manufacturing proficient, will utilize forge manufacturing knowledge to design aircraft hardware for the Forge and Heat Treatment processing to meet customer production and quality demands
AAS degree or Bachelors’ degree
Experience with SAP & TEM
Technical Writing or Format/Documentation Writing Experience
Learning Management System Experience
SharePoint and/or Microsoft 360 experience
Experience with instruction or training
Planning and organizing
Data gathering and analysis
Facilitation, coaching and analytical skills
Excellent judgment and professional/business maturity
Exceptional people and interpersonal skills
Education / Certifications
- Associate’s degree and 1 year of experience
Associate’s degree and 1 year of experience
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts
Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of experience
Background in metrology
Possess good people and communication skills
Good organizational skills with project management experience
Statistical process knowledge including use of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma
Ability to work with CAD tools and create/interpret engineering blue prints
Manufacturing experience preferred
