A team member at this level is expected to assist with Columbus Engine Center Health & Safety management of specific tasks in support of the Business Unit Goals. This position requires a technical aptitude and an ability to follow work instructions. Comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirement.

Duties:

  • You will conduct regular Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) compliance inspections across the business units.

  • You will support the EH&S Generalist and Identify risk assessment gaps with respect to EH&S Compliance initiatives.

  • You will serve as liaison between site Environmental Health and Safety and Operations.

  • Assist with data management and development of reports as needed.

  • Perform evaluation of EH&S initiatives

  • Assist cells with developing and tracking continuous improvement projects.

  • Assist with data collection and integration of new initiatives established by Global EH&S and the GA Site EH&S Group

  • You will provide assistance to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and United Technologies/Pratt & Whitney Environmental Health & Safety related requirements.

  • You will support implementation and maintenance of United Technologies (UTC) EH&S Management system (SP001-SP012)

  • You will Support efforts to achieve successful audit performance

  • Track and remain aware of Corrective Action Request performance. Assist team in completion of Root Cause and Corrective Action’s.

  • You will provide technical guidance and assistance to Site EH&S Council members and Site EH&S Subcommittees.

  • Provide assistance and guidance towards successful audit performance.

Qualification:

Required qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts

  • 1 + years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • 1+ years’ experience with Environmental Health & Safety, Health Science, Safety or Emergency Responses

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to manage time constraints, follow through on completion of projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to demonstrate some technical competencies and aptitude in understanding EH&S issues and formulating solutions to EH&S issues.

  • Able to perform word processing and work in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • You will need to be able to work with limited supervision.

  • Craft clear communication

  • Creative troubleshooting skills

  • Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity

  • Possess exceptional people and interpersonal skills.
