We have an immediate need for a Plant Operator in Colton, CA!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of a GE LM6000 Power Plant

  • Ensures that the plant meets the production requirements during a shift of all contracts such as Operations and Maintenance Agreement

  • During a shift, ensures the plant adheres to environmental requirements, employee safety and fire protection programs

  • Ensures the operations staff adheres to all plant operating policies and procedures

  • Assists the senior staff in development of operating procedures, operations budgets and ensures the shift operations portion of the business plan for the facility

  • During the second shifts, weekends, and holidays, is the senior person on duty and represents the Plant Manager as well as NORESCO

  • Person on shift responsible for all functions of the operations of the facility

  • Ensures the plant achieves production requirements of the OM agreement

  • Ensures the plant meets all environmental compliance requirements as well as safety and fire protection requirements

  • Assist the Plant Manager for operations O&M budget and business plan

  • Assist the operations team in developing operations plant policies and procedures

  • Ensures the plant has the necessary fuel and consumables to optimize plant production

  • Ensures tagout and lockout procedures are followed

  • Ensure Safety program is adhered to on the shift

  • Make frequent plant tours

  • Review plant logs

  • Prepares and gives system training as necessary

  • Be knowledgeable with the Emergency plan

  • Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained on shift

  • Determine, prepare, and administer capital improvement projects under the direction of the Plant Manager

  • Prepare work requests

  • Prepare purchase requests

  • Adhere to NORESCO company philosophies and regulations

Qualification:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a power plant environment is required.

  • Candidate must possess excellent operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills as well as customer service skills are required.

  • Business management as well as Profit and Loss (P&L) skills are desired.

  • Mental alertness and ability to concentrate with distractions nearby.

  • Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb and crawl.

  • This position requires working in diverse locations and conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms where there can be potential exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and proximity to electricity including high voltage. Detailed safety review must be completed and reviewed prior to any work. Adherence to all Safety Procedures will be required.

  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling bending climbing and crawling.

  • Potential exists for requirement of employee to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs.

Education:

  • High school diploma is required

  • Vocational, Naval, or technical training is desired as well
