Position Purpose/Objective:

This is a mid-level position to Rig and Pack parachutes for Military E-Seat applications.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and pack parachutes for military ejection seat escape systems

  • Assembles product by reading blueprints and work instruction, including the use of measuring devices (scales, calibers etc.) without guidance

  • May pack designated product in designated shipping containers

  • May track and receive the required parts for the product area.

  • May check stock bins for adequate supplies od sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners for the particular run. Contacts material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins.

  • Performs sheet metal riveting functions using hand tools such as rivet gun, rivnut gun, shaver, rivet squeeze, hand clamps, bucking bars, drill press, a pneumatic drill and specialized fixtures to build subassemblies

  • Adheres to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct

  • Ensures quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures

  • Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace

  • Provides continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 4 years of prior experience and/or training

Education:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent

  • FAA Parachute Rigging Airman Certificate Preferred (Senior or Master)
