RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all aspects of service required to be the primary System Specialist on service accounts

  • Under minimal supervision, completes assigned duties including, programming, inspection, testing, commissioning, and customer training

  • Customer interaction is essential to provide a thorough understanding of systems to recommend and plan for enhancements

  • Mentors Service System Specialists on fundamental job skills and technology; Serves as technical resource

  • Service, commission, re-commission customer systems which utilize pneumatic / electrical / electronic technology

  • Identifies customer issues and is able to escalate accordingly to ensure problems are resolved utilizing the correct resources

  • Complete all required commissioning documentation; Maintains accurate As-Built drawing package and makes changes in Visio, Excel, Word, as required

  • Completes paperwork on-time including time sheets, expense sheets, posting of service tickets and on-site documentation

  • Responsible for system checkout from controllers to sensors, loading software, interfacing with third party systems, working with customer IT personnel, etc.; Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, decade boxes, network terminals and/ or a laptop computer

  • Performs static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming

  • Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system

  • Responsible for set up of operator workstations with all associated software

  • Responsible for performing job database backups on a daily basis or as advised

  • Assists with turnover to service

  • Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site; Keeps customer informed on progress; Reviews customer's systems and, if needed, points out areas of improvement and scope issues to project manager; Keeps project management apprised of customer concerns and issues

  • Adheres to safety standards; High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety

  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

  • Able to create, download, and troubleshoot complex HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software. Proficient with all WebCTRL software functions and utilities

  • Communicates issues with Project Manager on a timely basis

  • Proficient with all WebCTRL software functions and utilities

  • Advance knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology, including layout and troubleshooting

  • Must be well organized with good time management and communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment

  • Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

  • Basic experience with Microsoft software products to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Windows products when required

  • Has an excellent working knowledge of Automated Logic hardware and software

  • Possesses an excellent understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences

  • Possess computer and networking skills to properly maintain a service laptop as well as experience in the commissioning of Ethernet and ARC Net communications

  • Maintains the customer with innovative and superior building automation systems and provide outstanding customer service

  • Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings

  • Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines

  • Possess and maintain valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier

  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Electronics, Computers, or 3 years experience in the HVAC controls industry
