Carrier Corporation is the world’s largest manufacturer of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. We currently have an opportunity at our Charlotte, NC facility as an ACE Leader. This position leads a project team or multiple smaller project teams in an area of expertise. The individual is accountable for preparing, monitoring and budgeting for business/operational results of a functional team or project. The position will directly manage individual contributors.
Responsibilities under minimal supervision include:
Drive overall ACE initiatives and support efforts to achieve ACE gold for the Charlotte plant.
Provide responsive support to manufacturing regarding ACE activities by assisting with interpretation and implementation of ACE 12.0 criteria and development of plant transformation plan.
Lead and coordinate training on key ACE tools.
Supervisor for ACE Pilots.
Work with departments to identify productivity opportunities and assist with implementation.
Present continuous improvement activities related to process mandates and goals monitored and evaluated by the ACE Pilots.
Facilitate ACE events for the Charlotte manufacturing group.
Lead monthly ACE Council meeting involving process improvement activity.
Reinforce the use of ACE tools to support maintaining/obtaining identified ACE level certification.
Coordinate all ACE activities to meet plant goals.
Lead process certification activities for key processes to drive to Milestone 4.
Participate in required meetings as a member of the plant leadership team.
Conduct internal gap analysis and assessments.
Interface with external customers and provide facility tours
Exercise leadership through coaching and communication of best practices.
Interface with WHQ ACE office and provide accurate reports upon request or via standard updates.
Update the Site’s thermostat by the 15th of every month.
Motivate and mentor others and lead by examples through active participation.
The candidate must possess a degree in engineering or related discipline with the following years of experience:
BA/BS degree w/6–10+ years experience
MA/MS degree w/4–7+ years experience
Minimum of ACE Associate or equivalent (lean manufacturing certification) required.
Experience leading Kaizen events.
Experience with Kaizen, VSM, Pro-Cert, RRCA and other Process Improvement tools.
Experience planning and allocating resources, materials; scheduling of equipment for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
