Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. As the Manager for Machining for SIS Business located in Burnsville, MN this person is expected to work directly with upper management with focus will on LTA Penetration, LCS Penetration, Supplier Aggregation, Supplier Performance and overall Cost Reduction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage all core commodity management activities for Machining and Gears for the SIS business within UTAS and report in to the Head of Machining for the SIS business.

  • Responsible for the execution of commodity savings plan for the ES Business.

  • Development and execution of Part Family Strategy for Machining through the SSRB process.

  • Manage a team of associates and be responsible for execution of cost Machining Strategies and cost savings projects for the business.

  • Key activity will be to develop and execute standard work within the Procurement function for negotiation of long term contracts and part transitions.

  • The position requires a strong integration with the core Global Sourcing team.

  • Direct interface with Senior Management both within the SIS Business Unit (VP/GM, Directors, Program Managers, and Engineering & Operations) and within the Supply Management functional organization and serves as the link between the business unit and the central supply chain organization.

  • Ability to develop and meet key program metrics for the team in addition to standard commodity metrics as defined by the Business Unit and Supply Management control towers.

  • The Manager Commodity Management should demonstrates an advanced understanding of the UTC aerospace business and play a key role in interfacing with the UTC internal and external customers to lead, coordinate, and implement strategic activities.

  • Must adhere to procurement manual guidelines and exhibit ethical business behaviors at all times.

Qualification: Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering/Supply Chain/Manufacturing or related area with a continued proven track record of performance achievement and growth and increased level of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts Experience developing supplier relationships

  • Knowledge of supply chain management in the Aerospace organization

  • Project/program Management

  • Supervisory/leadership experience

  • Cost sensitivity and business judgment with proven bottom line results

  • Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other Business related field.

  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
