We are looking for a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing facility in Athens, GA. You will be responsible for the overall supply base quality for our facility, with a focus on supplier development. The SQE partners with Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing functions to continuously improve the performance of suppliers of system components by working with the supply base to ensure it has an effective quality management system and reliable process controls in place to provide a consistently conforming product, on time, at the agreed upon costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will invest in management of suppliers by commodity to positively impact PPM metrics

  • Conducts Q+ System Audits and Process Qualification Audits

  • Daily plant manufacturing support for defect resolution, test related failures and the management of non-conforming material

  • Your role is an integral team member of the supplier qualification process

  • Investigates and resolves reported supplier-related manufacturing issues

  • 8Ds, APQP activities including PPAP, working to reduce/eliminate warranty issues from your suppliers

  • Actively participate in Corrective Action Team project support

  • Be involved in addressing field complaints

  • Responsible for monthly reporting duties

  • Observe and implement supplier and process quality improvements

  • Be a mentor for supply chain personnel

Qualification:

  • 4+ years of experience or Masters degree with 2+ years of related experience

The position requires someone with technical skills commensurate with the commodities being handled, and administrative/management skills to handle various presentation and reporting requirements. You will require attention to detail, and the ability to work on his/her own initiative with a dedicated strategic approach to challenges.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality or Engineering
