Description:

Coordinate activities in the manufacture of fire suppression systems. Ensures manufacturing processes, engineering projects, production yields, new product introductions and cost reductions are in conformance with company's established policies and objectives. Provides support for operations teams on process improvement opportunities. Propose and implement Kaizen events throughout the plant to affect rapid change.

  • Responsible for driving safety in all manufacturing and operations processes

  • Assists in manufacturing process improvements. Proactively identifies areas for improvement in processing efficiencies, capacity, energy, process safety and environmental systems consistent with business objectives

  • Assists in the implementation of lean manufacturing utilizing UTC's ACE Operating System

  • Identifies new equipment needs and process specification implementation into production

  • Lead problem solving and root cause analysis to improve product yield, product cost and manufacturing throughput including the implementation of lean manufacturing principles

  • Ensure the accuracy of all manufacturing related documentations (work instructions, BOM, Router and etc.)

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned| BS in engineering or related field required| - Preferred at least three years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in a medium volume manufacturing environment with a large variety of products

  • Experience with machining, fabrication, electromechanical assembly and control & instrumentation manufacturing process preferred

  • Experience with 6 Sigma and statistical process control tools and methodologies

  • Excellent statistical data-driven decision making and problem solving skills

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Must be able to interface with different levels in the organization to facilitate changes

Qualification:

  • Preferred at least three years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in a medium volume manufacturing environment with a large variety of products

  • Experience with lean manufacturing projects

  • Experience with 6 Sigma and statistical process control tools and methodologies

  • Excellent statistical data-driven decision making and problem solving skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required
