The UTAS business is seeking a Business Development Manager of Military Aftermarket. The primary focus is identifying customer’s needs, developing new relationships and expanding UTAS business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic business growth, business development and driving ‘key’ large marketing campaigns for Military aftermarket business across UTC Aerospace Systems while tied very tightly with the Sales Team. This includes leading / co-leading with SBU (Strategic Business Units) a capture team; tasks include; identify opportunity, qualify and quantify the opportunity, competitive positioning, price to win development, opportunity strategy development and proposal development that will influence growth in orders and sales of Spare Parts, Repair, services (PBL, logistics programs, etc.). Close coordination and alignment with internal functional teams (Analytics, Sales team and SBUs) is essential as they utilize data, market research, and marketing materials to identify, strategize and set opportunities for future business and sales growth. This individual will also be responsible for the development/co-development of country, regional and platform strategies that will grow the business units’ market share in all aspects of the Military aftermarket and sustainment -markets. Business Development Leader of Military Programs shall be responsible for:

  • Working as a team with SBUs, Sales Team and SBUs to develop Product, System, Platform and Regional strategies for spares, repairs, services and mods/upgrades.

  • Shape customer requirements, identify the customer’s most important requirements, and to provide price to win and competitive assessment for relevant pursuits. Pulling SBUs together for platform opportunities and win strategies.

  • Position the Military aftermarket to take full advantage of International & Department of Defense initiatives relating to Spares, Repair’s, Services and Mods/Upgrade growth opportunities. Provide the overall leadership for customer satisfaction, sales, marketing, delivery, quality and project management of growth programs.

  • Meeting growth plans and commitments to objectives

  • Developing and maintaining Aftermarket product, system and platform marketing materials to assist in selling ‘key’ opportunity

  • Providing accurate and timely BD marketing support and achieving sustainment growth requirements to meet SBU and other internal customer expectations.

  • Building upon existing relationships with domestic and international customers and cultivating relationships with new customers; OEM, Channel Partners, DoD, DLA, Foreign Ministries of Defense, etc.

Qualification: Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four-year university required; an MBA or advanced degree in a related field is preferred.

· A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with Aftermarket, International and Department of Defense initiatives within the aerospace industry.

· Recent experience in business development
