Kidde Fire Protection Systems (FPS) Systems is currently seeking an NPI Engineer for the Wilson location. Kidde FPS is a global organization of close to 900 employees with offices in the UK, Australia, France and Germany and headquartered in Wilson, North Carolina, USA. We design, manufacture and service fire protection systems and components and provide integrated solutions for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms. The role of NPI Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the launch of products (new or engineering changes) from the development phase through customer launch phase. The role will work alongside Product Managers and R&D to ensure DFM compliance within the assigned factory.

Job Description

  • Ability to review Customer contracts and develop associated Quality Plans

  • Prepare Quality Data information and participate in Customer Reviews.

  • Ability to identify high risks and put into place mitigation actions.

  • Ability to Facilitate program Passport Reviews with cross functional team

  • Ability to effectively flow down customer requirements to the rest of the organization.

  • Ability to read and understand customer engineering drawings and Tech Standards.

  • Knowledge of Material Review Board and Non-conforming Material/QIM process.

  • Ability to review and understand Product and Process validation and the assessment of process risks through Controlled Builds, PFMEAs, and UPPAP implementation.

  • Understanding of AS9100 requirements and flow through QMS.

  • Ability to understand tools and techniques used for investigations in order to hold discussions and convey results to the customer.

  • Ability to evaluate new supplier compliance and risks and develop appropriate mitigation actions using data and audit processes.

  • Ability to coordinate a cross functional team to perform robust supplier selection.

  • Ability to analyze product or product’s use for customers before being commercialized

Qualification:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and demonstrated experience in project management.

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, coupled with a well-focused attention to detail.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional project teams.

  • Experience writing technical reports, and preparing technical presentation material is required.

  • Ability to perform in a highly dynamic work environment and interact effectively with various engineering and non-engineering disciplines

Education:

  • BS degree in Engineering plus 3 or more years of experience required

  • MS degree in Engineering plus 2 or more years of experience preferred
