We are seeking a high energy, data driven, and results-oriented quality professional to continue to raise our high bar in quality leadership.

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to provide direct quality support to assure product quality from design through assembly operations. The individual will be responsible for leading quality initiatives with Det-Tronics manufacturing and suppliers to improve purchased part/service quality, drive quality system improvements, and ensure compliance to regulatory and procedural requirements. The Quality Engineer must have knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and quality related tools and applications, and process development. Focusing on waste elimination and reducing part to part variation therefore improving process capability. Quality audits must be performed on suppliers to assure products and services meet UTC Q+ and ISO9001 requirements and relevant regulatory standards. The ability to effectively collaborate, influence, and coordinate amongst team members within sourcing, materials management, design engineering, receiving inspection, and quality management is critical to this role.


  • Serve on Engineering Design Teams as a Quality representative, providing input to the manufacturing ability and serviceability of the designs. Use failure and defect reports to assist with these recommendations.

  • Perform failure and defect analysis in cooperation with Engineering and Manufacturing to determine appropriate corrective action for quality problems and follow-up to insure that appropriate action for quality problems and follow-up to insure that appropriate action has been taken.

  • Perform In-process Audits in order to identify production problems before the products are submitted to Final Inspection. Insure identified problems have been addressed and corrective action has been taken.

  • Perform Quality Planning for incoming material, manufactured components, assembly, and finished products. Follow up to assure that corrective action is effective.

  • Assist in establishing effective inspection Sampling Plans and Quality Audits to assure cost-effective compliance with customer’s expectations and specifications.

  • Conduct quality surveys on supplier and potential suppliers for critical purchased components.

  • Provide leadership in Quality Audits of finished products, testing units in a complete system set up. Provide reports of findings and assure corrective action has been taken.

  • As required, establish an effective working relationship with customer Quality Personnel to enhance Detector Electronics Corporation’s reputation and a high-quality, dependable supplier of goods and services. Maintain professional working relationships with appropriate personnel at governmental agencies and industrial organizations involved with standards of specifications for products produced by Detector Electronics Corporation.

  • Collect and analyze data, formulate corrective actions and present in Quality Steering Committee.


  • Experience in a quality role.

  • Working Knowledge of Quality/Reliability tools DFMEA. PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Certification, SPC, Pareto, DOE, Std. Deviations, Control Charts, etc.

  • Lean Six Sigma or ASQ Certification

  • Working knowledge of desktop computer, office software and data analysis tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally.
