The Machine Operator I is primarily an entry level machine operator and hardware inspector. Emphasis is placed on cross training between the various Refurb processes and equipment for preparation for advancement to next operator level (Machine Operator II).
Role responsibilities include:
•Learn all necessary machining operations and product flow for all department operations
•Ability to work as a team member with limited supervision
•Learn, understand and effectively read blueprints including geometrical dimension and tolerance (GD&T
•Learn, perform limited set-up, and operate equipment including
•Operate machinery including: Profilometer, Manual Mill, Engraver, Scale, Computer, Hardware Press, Drill Press, Shot Peen Machine and Auto-deriveter
•Learn and perform limited set-up of CNC equipment
•Operate required gauging to perform and/or inspect work
•Stage parts and hardware for next operation including breakdown of field returns
•Become proficient in the use of the Refurb MES system
•Learn, understand and follow established environmental, health and safety standards and procedures while performing daily duties. Is constantly aware of, and looks for, ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
•Learn, understand and effectively follow Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
•Learn and maintain 5S standards of a clean, organized work area •Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools such as KAS, 5S, TPM and other continuous process improvement tools
•Monitor metrics in the work area. Take appropriate and timely action when metrics indicate downward trends or fall below acceptable limits
Minimum one year manufacturing experience.
•Ability to problem solve and exercise creativity to develop and/or implement practical solutions.
•Mechanical aptitude desired
Ability to work 3-day/12-hr shift schedule, including holidays and weekends
Must be able to verify US person status
