Senior Manager, International Trade Compliance, Interiors

In this role you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to all Interiors sites, domestic and international, through clear communication, strategic partnership with key stakeholders, and integration of ITC requirements into key business processes.

You will also serve as a member of the IAPS’ Senior Leadership Team and as such, fulfilling various leadership responsibilities, including leading continuous improvement events and trainings at your sites.

In addition, you will be responsible for driving process maturity and continuous improvement activities for all key international trade compliance (ITC) processes and implementing UTC/UTAS policy and procedural requirements at all Interiors’ sites.

You will be responsible for working with other UTC and UTAS Major Operating Units (MOUs), UTC’s Central ITC Organization (CITC), and the various UTAS regional and ITC discipline-specific Councils; to ensure Interiors is leveraging best practices and standard work are deployed across Interiors world-wide.

Additional skills and requirements are as follows:

  • Good project/program management and organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of direct-reports and provide leadership to the larger technology management discipline across all Interiors sites, domestic and international.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tracking plans to commitments and driving/coordinating actions within Interiors to a fully documented closure

  • Ability to work as a member of cross functional teams and effectively communicate with other ITC professionals in Export Authorizations, Customs/Import, etc.

  • Assist Interiors’ sites with ITC assessment process and drive corrective actions to closure

  • Assist with Interiors-wide ITC investigations, corrective actions and voluntary disclosures.

  • Create standard work and use UTC/UTAS processes to determine root cause and corrective actions for process improvements, based on data, process failures and other related investigation recommendations.

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 5 years of International Trade Compliance experience, including leading an ITC team; ability to drive functional excellence at business unit level.

  • Working knowledge and experience with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as well as the import regulations.

  • Thorough understanding of the Commodity Control List (CCL) contained in the EAR and the United States Munitions List (USML) contained in the ITAR.

  • Proven effective utilization of ACE/continuous improvement tools to drive process improvements.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; must be able to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to travel 50% to domestic and internal sites

  • Must be able to verify U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
