Assists the Work Transfer process: complete project quantification and support in the creation and distribution of Interiors Work Transfer (WT) project plan. Assist in completion of standard work by working with Supply Chain and the UTAS Central Work Transfer management team for review and modification of standard work map. Maintain Interiors WT training roster and organize the gated project sign off Passport P1-P4. Attend UTAS WT Central weekly meetings; publish meeting minutes for Interiors team. The position will also provide limited travel to Interiors Sites to coordinate projects and work with expanded disciplines such as Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations personnel to organize project requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

This intern would have the opportunity to learn Quality Systems and project planning. Understand Work Transfer deliverables along with maintaining updated Work Transfer standard work. Prepare associated analysis of project plan data and verify project document requirements for passport gates. In addition, this intern will have the opportunity to learn Aerospace Industry standards, Federal Aviation (FAA) requirements, First Article Inspection requirements, and interface with leadership by generating monthly reporting package information for Interiors.

Responsible for supporting the Quality team with the following:

  • developing skills and competencies related to WT

  • Passport Delegate Training

  • Attend Work Transfer Passport Reviews

  • Work with sites to release WT procedure/map

  • Assist in updating project readiness, overlap and burndown requirements

  • Assist in alignment of Work Transfer Standard Work

  • Status Work Transfer Projects by Passport gate

  • Obtain schedule and delivery confirmations supply chain

  • Anticipate and communicate passport delays from sites

  • manage Work Transfer for Interiors

  • Assist in resolving Quality requirements for WT

  • Monitor Interiors WT performance

  • Execute process improvements

  • Escalate to management issues inhibiting transitions for WT

Qualification:

Must be a self-driven worker who is always looking to excel in what they do

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Good computer skills with ability to learn new programs/software

  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task amidst rapid change

Education:

  • Pursuing a BS degree in Business, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, or other related education

  • Preferred: Junior level of education and ability to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer
