Assists the Quality Shared Service team on the following projects; Quality Clinic maturity maintenance, Cost of Poor Quality project standard work and project data analysis. Assist the Quality MFP with UPPAP (UTC Production Part Approval Process) projects. The candidate will be exposed to quantification, creation and distribution of Interiors processes and assists in developing gated process project plans. Assist in completion of standard work by working with UTAS Central Quality management team on implementation, review and modification of standard work maps. Maintain Interiors skills matrix training roster and organize gap plans for training. The position could also provide limited travel to Interiors Sites to coordinate projects and work with expanded disciplines such as Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations personnel to organize project requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

This intern would have the opportunity to learn Quality Systems as well as project planning and understanding key elements of an Aerospace Industry, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations and Engineering processes. The candidate will prepare associated analysis of project plan data and verify shared service deliverables. In addition, this intern will have the opportunity to learn Aerospace Industry standards, Federal Aviation (FAA) requirements, First Article Inspection requirements, and interface with leadership by generating monthly reporting package information for Interiors.

Responsible for supporting the Quality team with the following:

  • Quality Clinic Maturity status 0 assist in main plans for maturity

  • Create monthly presentations - clinic maturity, COPQ, UPPAP

  • Assist in identifying gaps for Quality Clinic ACE maturity

  • Understand AS9100 flow-down UTC to UTAS to Interiors

  • Assist in document review and implementation for compliance

  • Assist in COPQ data uploads and project reviews

  • Assist in UPPAP site set up, mapping process and the 19 element deliverable project plans

  • Participate as a Quality team member on COPQ reduction projects

Qualification:

  • Good computer skills with ability to learn new programs/software

  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task amidst rapid change

Education:

  • Pursuing a BS degree in Business, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, or other related education

  • Preferred : Junior level of education and ability to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer
