JOB SUMMARY:

  • Provide support for Metallurgical & Chemical processes applied to components manufactured at North Berwick Aero Systems.

  • Work with cross-functional teams including Cell Leaders and production personnel to continually improve Metallurgical & Chemical processes.

  • Work from blueprints, process specifications and quality procedures to develop and improve manufacturing processes, purchase tooling, capital equipment and incorporate ACE methodology using statistical process controls.

  • Work closely with Materials Engineering and provide guidance on new design concepts to best utilize equipment and standard practices.

  • Coordinate engineering tests and experiments to troubleshoot and improve Met & Chem. operations related to design, materials, or processes.

Qualification:

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of heat treatment, brazing, chemical cleaning and plating.

  • Experience in improving Met. & Chem. processes and implementing, maintaining, and improving process controls, inclusive of knowledge of aerospace materials, tool/fixture design.

  • Strong computer skills and general office software.

  • Good interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Periodic off-shift assignments to be scheduled based on business requirements

  • Experience with EB Welding, Laser Welding, TIG Welding, Laser Cutting, Laser Drilling, Thermal Plasma Spray, Programing, Peening both Shot and Glass Bead, etc. a plus.

  • Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

Education:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Material Engineering is required.
