The Fire Safety Solutions group at UTC Climate, Controls & Security is dedicated to providing product and technology designed to protect people and property from the effects of fire and its related hazards. Obtain regulatory approvals in the Eastern European region (Russian language preferred) and around the world for new and existing products. Supply technical assistance to engineering design teams and other departments as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead regulatory approval projects from start to finish. Create test plans in compliance with applicable regulations. Work with regulatory agencies to ensure that project work stays on task and questions get answered. Report to Approvals Engineering Manager on status of projects. Provide technical support on approval issues with respect to new product development and design modifications. Maintain an awareness of changes in approval requirements. Suggest and implement continuous improvement ideas within the department. Contribute to the company’s process improvement (Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE)) and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) objectives. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

Minimum two years of experience in regulatory compliance. Strong knowledge of regulations for hazardous locations is desired especially the Eastern European region (Russian language preferred). Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an open attitude for continuous improvement. Must have demonstrated approvals project management skills. Ability to perform under stress and meet deadlines, to work cooperatively and respectfully with others, to work (when necessary) overtime and weekends, to come to work promptly and regularly, and the ability to take and follow orders is essential.
