Description:

Middletown Engine Center has an exciting employment opportunity for a Quality Engineer supporting the Military and Industrial Product Line. The position is responsible for providing technical direction, problem resolution, support and coordination as a Lead Quality Engineering discipline through various techniques, systems and procedures for the various product lines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordination of all quality and compliance requirements between the product line mechanics/operators/inspectors and support organizations within P&W

  • Communication with the Engine Center leadership team and DCMA to ensure engines meet customer and engine program requirements

  • Work with Supply Chain and Module Centers to resolve quality issues

  • Evaluate procedures and processes to determine compliance to applicable requirements

  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to support process enhancements to ensure robust engine delivery and the Engine Center’s ACE journey

  • Investigate escapes and non-compliances to determine root cause, identifying robust corrective actions and tracking effectiveness

  • Partner with product line management team to ensure full support of the product and delivery

  • Perform foreign object debris (FOD) toolbox audits to ensure compliance to procedures and standard work

  • Lead Manufacturing Corrective Action Board for Product Line to eliminate escapes, assure effective Root Cause and Corrective Action, and minimize Scrap, Rework and Repair.

  • Establish and maintain customer relations with the local DCMA rep. to ensure product and processes meet or exceed all customer expectations

  • Lead all efforts for continuous improvements to help drive assembly and part quality defects

Qualification: 5-7 yrs of related experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a group setting and interface directly with shop floor operators. Knowledge/experience with Quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001. SAP and Solumina familiarity is a plus.

Education:

  • BS in a related field

  • Advanced degrees & ASQ-CQE certification a plus

  • ACE Associate Certification a plus
