Capable of obtaining a general knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret technical data such as standard work, Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) guidelines, and Customer Specification Sheets (CSS), etc.

Component Tech Duties:

  • Performs disassembly, blasting, cleaning, inspection and assembly of aircraft components according to customer’s specifications, airworthiness directives, applicable manufacturers’ CMM guidelines, Carbon Overhaul Manual (COM), and UTC Aerospace Systems operating procedures.

  • Completes necessary related documentation in accordance with established procedures.

  • Maintains proper segregation and identification of components in progress

  • Capable of obtaining a general knowledge of and comply with customer/Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/Joint Aviation Administration (JAA) technical data as applicable to the work assigned

  • Complies with and supports EH&S policies and procedures

  • Capable of becoming familiar with and support ACE initiatives

Group Lead Duties:

Directs activities related to daily production and is responsible for production input and output

Monitors and reports metrics to determine efficiency of wheel line

Ensure all preventative maintenance / TPMs for the area are completed in a timely manner

Responsible for maintaining quality standards set by the business in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Specialist and conducts Audits as designated by the Sr. Group Lead

Assists in maintaining the Skills matrix for the area and ensuring training is scheduled equally

Orients new employees to continuous improvement, shop equipment, procedures, safety, and customer requirements

Conducts EH&S audits as required by the Sr. Group Lead

Completes Autotime for the area employees

Conduct shift start meetings as needed

Qualification:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Must have the ability to multitask.

  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Must be able to articulate and understand verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to work as a team member

  • This is a Safety Sensitive position that requires entry into FAA drug pool. All applicants must complete a pre -employment drug test and as an employee take part in random drug tests, as required, each quarter.

Preferred:

  • Prior supervisory experience with success leading others

  • Understand component maintenance manuals and all other applicable technical documents.

  • Must be able to write descriptive statements concerning the condition of the assemblies being worked on

  • One (1) year mechanical experience and ability to attain required operating certifications.

Must be able to verify U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
