Det-Tronics is a $150M technologically innovative, projects-based global P&L protecting customers in many challenging environments with high end flame and gas detection products and systems. Det-Tronics is a part of the Global Fire Products business and has a global footprint with manufacturing sites in the U.S. and sales presence in all key geographies.

Det-Tronics is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to develop, establish, maintain and grow regional sales of company products, systems & services by working with sales channel partners and direct customers to meet regional & corporate sales quotas and profit objectives. The Regional Sales Manager executes sales strategies for the assigned region and accounts, and monitors/reports results against plan to colleagues and senior management on a regular basis. The incumbent will also maintain compliance with UTC’s code of ethics, applicable antitrust laws, EH&S, & all other corporate policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and document performance against sales plan for the assigned sales region/channel including sales representatives, distributors & factory-direct accounts

  • Document and maintain sales forecast for the assigned region/channel by month/quarter/year and other metrics using the corporate CRM software package

  • Coordinate, execute and document customer project pursuit strategies, activities and management including regular updates in the corporate CRM software package

  • Document and execute sales plans within assigned region/channel in support of global objectives

  • Independently plan, arrange, & execute customer sales calls across the assigned region/channel

  • Manage complex project pursuits from discovery to close

  • Manage all aspects of the assigned sales channel and channel partners including enrollment, renewal, training, coaching, lead identification, and applicable sales process & sales pipeline metrics

  • Advise, coach and assist sales channels in their sales pursuit activities

  • Accompany sales channel partners on sales calls and provide direct sales support to customers as required

  • Attend trade shows, exhibits, and sales meetings in assigned region as required

  • Identify relevant competition including pricing information and transmit such information with recommendations promptly to management

  • Fully competent selling skills across entire range of products, systems, & services

  • Fully competent in generating customer proposals

  • Fully competent in providing customer product demonstrations

  • Fully competent in arranging & delivering customer live video broadcast events

  • Ensure compliance with UTC code of ethics, Antitrust policies and procedures, Travel Policy, Business Ethics, and ACE program training requirements

  • Ensure compliance with all Detector Electronics Corporation policies and requirements

  • Maintain all records as requested by management

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Director of Sales or others within the organization as directed

Qualification:

  • 3 - 5 years relevant experience required

  • Possess a solid understanding of industrial fire protection/suppression and flammable/toxic gas detection systems used in petrochemical, oil, and gas production facilities

  • Overnight domestic travel of up to 50% may be required

  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) software applications is required

  • Experience with industrial process control instrumentation is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training
