The Contract Deviation Specialist will work with outside sales & project management, layout drafters, Otis engineering and other entities to qualify and coordinate non-orderable contract conditions. The candidate will be a subject matter expert, providing guidance to up-and-coming team members on matters relating to elevator systems in general. The Contract Deviation Specialist will also aide the sales team by providing sketches that depict equipment alterations when field conditions do not accommodate standard arrangements. The position will be located at the Otis factory in Florence, SC.

Qualification:

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exhibit expert knowledge of complete elevator systems including product limitations and creative solutions to non-standard installation accommodations

  • Have a demonstrated history of excellent customer service

  • Demonstrate AutoCAD expertise

  • Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office applications

  • Able to demonstrate use of continuous improvement tools (Ishakawa, 5 why’s, Kaizan, etc.) to improve processes, and possess a certification in a continuous improvement program

  • Self-starters and able to work with minimal direction

  • Able to demonstrate a history of working in cross-function teams, respecting individual differences, and welcoming diverse thinking

  • Exhibit the ability to multi-task and balance projects with deadlines

  • Able to demonstrate a history of working in cross-function teams, respecting individual differences, and welcoming diverse thinking

  • Communicate a clear understanding of subject matter and offer informed suggestions to improve processes

Ideal candidate would also be:

  • Proficient at using Otis’ sales order estimating tools

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of the data flow among systems within the Otis operations chain

  • Able to demonstrate familiarity with “architectural” elevator components (cabs, entrances, operators, car operating panels and hall fixtures)
