Description:

  • Implementation of network infrastructure service requests supporting all of UTC's business units

  • Implementation of network design packages utilizing standard templates

  • Update documentation to reflect as-built configurations

  • Partner with customers, vendors, and internal technology groups to understand network requirements, to better support the global UTC WAN

  • Participate in complex technical troubleshooting calls and provide detailed root cause analysis as it relates to critical issues

  • Provide 3rd-tier support for managing Network Services ticketing queue

  • Provide 3rd-tier support for critical network problems on a rotational on-call basis

  • Assist with management of enterprise class network management/monitoring systems

  • Execute Network Planning to manage growth and development by monitoring network performance and equipment

  • Responsible for exploring performance improvement opportunities, and identifying future capacity needs

  • Expected to drive operational excellence in everything we do. This includes creating processes, procedures and automation to improve efficiency in our day-to-day tasks and projects.

Qualification:

  • 8+ years of experience with global network operational support in an enterprise or service provider setting

  • Must possess a thorough understanding of Network Infrastructure and topology

  • Expert experience with low-level networking constructs such routing protocols or network overlay implementations

  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching concepts and technologies (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)

  • Strong knowledge of network management, network security, SNMP and Radius

  • Experience with a variety of networking hardware vendors including but not limited to Cisco and Riverbed.

  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and documentation skills

  • Understanding of Firewalls, IPSEC IDS/IPS and XPS

  • Strong team, organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in an enterprise business environment

  • Experience supervising a distributed staff supporting global infrastructure components

  • Experience supervising an outsourced service provider (i.e., monitoring, remote equipment installations)

Education:

  • ITIL Certification

  • Current CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE certification in routing and switching a plus
