The primary job responsibility of this position is to support the Corporate and Business Unit Business Development (BD) customers on all Risk Management matters as part of the due diligence teams that are established for each target company.
This work includes identifying, quantifying and effectively communicating to the appropriate BD personnel the risks and opportunities of the target in the following property and casualty areas: Risk Finance, Insurance Cost Forecast, Customer and Supplier Contract Terms, Claim Management, Asset Protection, Surety Bonds, Captive Insurance and prior M&A activity of the target.
Effective communication means: in writing, verbally and during presentations and it includes the ability to succinctly explain the potential risk exposures related to Balance Sheet and P&L impacts of the target.
This job also entails communicating with and directing insurance brokers and other external advisors as necessary. It involves ownership of the integration and divestiture processes including communicating with other Risk Management personnel to allow Risk Management to achieve timely and cost effective integration and divesting within Risk Managements existing insurance programs and processes.
The work also includes supporting BD and Legal in the construction of the insurance related provisions of any Sale Purchase or Divestiture Agreements (SPA's), and in the development of the Risk Management inputs into the Capital Appropriations Request (CAR).
This position will also perform significant other work within the department in concert with the expected variability of the M&A and divestiture workload. This includes providing ongoing support to the commercial risk management team as directed by the commercial team leader, and special project work. In the recent past special project work has included unique Risk Management assignments such as consideration of new captive insurance programs, supporting benefits related projects, exposure data collection, outsourcing projects, and ACE (quality program) leadership and captive insurance company support.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant Risk Management, broker or insurance company experience is required.
Track record of working independently and professionally.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills necessary.
Travel flexibility is a must as requirements cannot always be planned in advance and are subject to short notice.
