UTC Climate, Control & Security (CCS), a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX), is seeking a Technology Expert for Model Based Development (MBD) of Embedded Systems & Software within the Systems & Control Engineering organization. This Technology Expert role will have the responsibility to support the definition and execution of the strategy to develop and deploy model based design workflows and technology platforms in the Embedded Systems & Software area for CCS and Otis.

Specific responsibilities for this position will be:

  • Support the WHQ development of technology roadmaps for model based design workflows and technology platforms in the Embedded Systems & Software

  • Participate in the CCS and Otis Business Unit engagement and deployment plans for model based and technology platforms in the Embedded Systems & Software.

  • Contribute to the coordination, execution and deliverable of selected WHQ technology programs and Business Unit deployment programs.

  • Cooperate and supervise external partners in the execution of WHQ technology programs

  • Support the development of Engineering Standard Work, standard tools & libraries for model based Embedded Systems & Software.

  • Provide communication of program status to leadership (BU, WHQ, UTC) and external partners

  • PhD in the area of Embedded Systems or Software with at least 5 years of experience or Master degree in Embedded Systems or Software with 8 years of experience.

  • Embedded Systems & Software programming skills – including C/C++ programming, Linux-based systems

  • Solid background in RTOS and embedded platforms

  • Experience on communication networks, distributed systems and middleware, cloud and IoT technologies

  • Experience in the development of simulation tools and models of distributed and networked systems (e.g., network simulation, full system simulation), and their application to design and verification.

  • Fluent English (both written and spoken), solid technical writing, presentation and communication skills.

Preferred Technical Skills/Education:

  • Experience in the implementation of hardware emulators (e.g, contributions to the QEMU framework)

  • Experience in Matlab/Simulink – modeling of algorithms, S-Function creation, code generation

  • Mobile application programming

  • Java programming

This candidate must be highly motivated, organized, self-driven, able to function in a global team environment (USA, China, India, and Europe) and demonstrate problem solving and analytical thinking skills.

This position will be located in Farmington, CT. Domestic Relocation will be considered.
