Description:

The Associate Director Supply Chain Management Strategy will be responsible for contributing to the overall Operations management strategy with a significant focus on advancing supply chain standard work processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading UTC’s corporate-wide supply chain standard work while utilizing the ACE Operating System (or Six Sigma philosophies and principles). The position requires highly analytical, structured thinking and the ability to communicate effectively.The candidate must possess the ability to work on multiple work streams and manage projects while fostering effective cross-functional team relationships in a collaborative work environment.

Manage the Supply Chain Playbook, driving continuous improvement of its processes and tools. Provide oversight of the Supplier Relationship Management and Category Strategy methodologies. The candidate will govern the overarching processes for each element across applicable Business Units (BU’s).

A successful candidate will have demonstrated value chain optimization and operations governance experience. Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain performance and material flow are desired.Experience with operation’s system data flow / connectivity are essential. The candidate will contribute to the development, implementation and adoption of standard work within the connected factory environment for all of UTC’s divisions.The candidate will participate in the development of strategic presentations highlighting internal and external feedback assessments and industry best practices. The candidate will also play a role in project execution, including maintaining effective communications across business units.

Essential DUTIES & RespoNSIBILTIES

The Associate Director Supply Chain Management Strategy will work on Supply Chain projects.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Program management of Operations supply chain standard work

  • Provide business case and support for Operations Management supply chain key process advancement and movement toward industry best practices

  • Support Operations Management supply chain strategic initiatives through due diligence, project execution and negotiations

  • Responsible of the overall governance of the Supply Chain standard work

  • Collaborate with Business Units to adopt standard work processes

  • Audit & govern use of supply chain standard work

  • Understand the UTC Change Management process and effectively drive (change) throughout the organization

  • Facilitate review of Playbook Deployment Control Tower

  • Lead the Strategic Sourcing Review process (SSRB)

  • Lead Top Supplier Program

  • Lead/participate on applicable Supply Chain councils

  • Connection with BU Business Process Management (BPM) organizations / Business Process Management (BPM) Council

  • Strong connection to Supply Chain University (SCU) Lead to ensure alignment of processes, required competencies and training

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 8 years related experience in progressively responsible roles within a diversified industrial operations business environment

  • Strong supply chain, manufacturing, quality experience preferred, with focus on Operations optimization

  • UTC ACE Practitioner or Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred along with one or more of the following:

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

  • Certified Production & Inventory Management (CPIM)

  • Ability to take ownership of assigned projects, handle ambiguity and independently drive for results

  • Demonstrated experience building relationships and credibility across functions and organizationallevels

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong business judgment, critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Strength in Project Management

  • Proficiency in Cloud based systems preferred

Education: BA/BS required with a focus in Operations, Engineering, Strategy, Economics, or Finance

MBA preferred
