The Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Supplier Quality team is responsible for working closely with our suppliers to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs.

APU quality is looking for a Deputy Supplier Quality Manager. The Deputy Supplier Quality Manager will lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers in the improvement of suppliers' Quality as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers and the APU Global Supply Chain team. The candidate shall be highly motivated and effective team player with strong communication and influential skills.

Major job responsibilities include (while not limited to):

• Leading SQEs in ensuring product and process compliance by providing guidance and direction with regards to quality systems and requirements

• Maintain key relationships with FEMC Value Stream Managers, suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, and PW Engineering to execute the supply base improvement plans and meet customer requirements.

• Provide leadership to solve value stream quality challenges to ensure success and customer satisfaction

• Attract, develop and mentor diverse talent in FEMC Supplier Quality

• Foster and maintain a cooperative relationship with our key regulatory customers. (FAA & DCMA)

• Drive product and process improvements that ensure Module Center’s quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework and Process Cert)

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the use of ACE tools to implement change, eliminate escapes and reduce cost and lead times.

Qualification:

• At least 8 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing and/or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years in the aerospace industry

• An understanding of P&W Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems, AS9100 and Regulatory Agency Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers (DCMA, FAA)

• Ability to lead projects, develop and mentor other leaders

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to facilitate and motivate teams

• Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools

• Experience in using ACE tools to make process improvements

• Experience with SAP and other IT Quality systems desired

• ASQ certification is a plus

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required (eg. Engineering, Quality)

Master's degree desirable.
