The F117 Logistics Program Management (LPM) organization provides comprehensive fleet management services for all fielded F117 engines. The F117 LPM manages the overhaul and repair of all removed engines and also provides support for the engines installed on the 260+ C-17 aircraft operated by the USAF and international air force customers.This position can be located in either East Hartford CT, Oklahoma City OK, Columbus GA, or San Francisco CA, but no relocation is offered.
The selected candidate will be a member of the F117 LPM Technical Management Team, whose mission is to provide the highest level of technical support to ensure sound engine configuration management policies leading to superior fleet operational performance. Primary responsibilities include:
Manage a team of powerplant engineers located at engine overhaul facilities who produce detailed engine repair workscopes and provide on-site engineering support, to meet technical and commercial objectives.
Manage/enhance engine workscoping tools to drive standardization across all engine overhaul facilities.
Evaluate engine build standards to achieve time on wing goals, trending and analyzing operational and shop data to identify adverse hardware durability trends.
Manage F117 Minimum Build Standard and repair workscope requirements to improve time on-wing and/or reduce program costs.
Assist in defining initial engine workscope maintenance levels and Service Bulletin incorporation strategies.
Manage F117 Customized Engine Maintenance Program document to align with program requirements and improve engine safety, reliability, and durability.
Work with depot engineering team to evaluate hardware distress, trend scrap drivers, provide part interchangeability assessments, and investigate options for increased part reparability.
Provide technical assistance and guidance for F117 engine and QEC related issues identified during a shop visit.
Represent F117 Mobility Programs engineering on hardware/module PMT meetings.
Support customer initiatives and safety investigations by providing historical and current engine and fleet status.
Review engines for Over and Above / Warranty determination
Ensure workscope compliance is in alignment with the workscope requested, including participation in the F117 invoice review process.
Support periodic Customer Program Meetings
Support contract and proposal activity, including engine induction shop visit forecasting, workscope pricing, and various technical analyses in support of supplier and customer negotiations and price reasonableness activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field
8+ years of experience of shop maintenance experience in the field of aviation, including a team leadership role
Previous C17/F117/PW2000 experience preferred
Engine test, engine overhaul shop, and/or military flight line maintenance or depot experience
Knowledge of jet engine repair and overhaul maintenance
Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access
Experience with USAF G081 system, Solumina, Maintenix and SAP is a plus
Strong oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work within a team environment
