The Quality Assurance organization has an opportunity for an individual to join the Military Engines Program Quality team as a Program Quality Chief. The successful candidate will lead a team of quality managers, leads and engineers to support activities to engage internal organizations, external producers to high levels of quality performance related to the product development, certification and production and to represent P&W as a customer quality focal point.

Responsibilities include:

Quality leadership for implementation and execution of the program Passport process in accordance with Integrated Product Deployment (IPD) requirements

Drive quality signature improvements by working with Engineering and Operations on the execution of UPPAP and QN Line Item reductrion plans,

Drive compliance activities for Program Risk Management aligned with Passport requirements,

Communicate quality improvement plans and progress to customers,

Integral member of the Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT),

Drive standard work creation and enhancement to document program quality processes including but not limited to customer requirement assessment, customer interface relationship, etc,

Customer Market Feedback Analysis (MFA), customer scorecard sustainment, ensure compliance with Program Management Instruction (PMI), and ACE tool use (QCPC, Std. Work, MFA, etc. to support internal and external continuous improvement goals,

Participation in escapes management process to ensure the proper allocation of resources, and the identification of root cause drivers, suspect population definition, corrective actions and proper communication with external airframe customers,

Review, develop, and enhance P&W’s quality management system (QMS) to support changes required with new business agreements and ensure implementation of customer and supplier/partner quality plans which foster the achievement of program office delivery, cost, and quality objectives,

Lead a team of program quality managers, quality leads, and quality engineers who participate and collaborate with program teams during all phases of propulsion system design, development, certification, production, and in-service customer support - supervise team members, create and manage individual development plans, provide supervisory feedback, coaching & mentoring.

Education Requirements:

B.S. in Engineering, Quality Systems Management Degree or appropriate manufacturing operations discipline,

Preferred: M.S. Engineering, Math/Statistics or Industrial Management: M.B.A.

Work Experience Requirements;

Sound business judgment, strong organization, leadership, team building, interpersonal, communications, writing and presentation skills are required for success. A working understanding of quality system requirements, knowledge of AS9100 requirements, and a thorough knowledge of the ACE operating system or similar continuous improvement methodology are essential. A demonstrated performance of past productivity and a high degree of computer literacy is also required. A broad knowledge of the quality, engineering, procurement, & manufacturing disciplines is necessary. This person must have the capability and personal skills to interface seamlessly with all levels of P&W Management within quality, in other (external) organizations, and major business units (PW and UTC wide).

Minimum 8 years, 10+ years preferred, of quality assurance or manufacturing operations experience with special emphasis on those processes and procedures associated with direct part producer support, especially those associated with the casting and forging processes; knowledge of the P&W Quality Management System and supplier quality management systems are required
