Pratt & Whitney is currently seeking a hands-on Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) who will document, monitor, and audit information systems (IS) for compliance with applicable U.S. Government IS security requirements. The ISSO will report directly to the Manager, IT Security, GSC Programs.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring classified systems to ensure they are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with appropriate security policies and procedures
Conducting reviews and monitoring of information systems to ensure compliance with security requirementsPerforming configuration change management and information system vulnerability scanning in accordance with policies and procedures
Develop and update, with management support, appropriate system documentation artifacts under the Risk Management Framework (RMF)Participate in incident response activities as required to ensure that cyber incidents are detected, analyzed, contained, eradicated, remediated, and reported and that proper sanitization processes are implemented
Partner and coordinate with internal and external customers and security peers
Support internal projects and programs, including continuous process improvement initiatives and back-up support or management of internal systems
At least 2 years’ experience in IT security and/or system administration in a Windows and Linux client/server networked environment
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security+ or other information security certification identified in DoD 8570.01-M within 6 months of hire
Must possess an active U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level or higher
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to drive results and work in a time-sensitive, high pressure environment
Experience in an information assurance related capacity under U.S. Government security requirements, particularly the following: NIST SP 800 series, particularly NIST SP 800-53 Revision 4;Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG)
Experience with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Tenable Nessus, or other system hardening and compliance or vulnerability assessment tools to enforce security policies
Experience with Splunk or other security information and event management (SIEM) products
Experience with network technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, routing, and common ports, protocols, and services.
