The Hot Section Engineering (HSE) organization at Pratt & Whitney is seeking an energetic, team-focused engineer for the role of Project Discipline Manager to support the Adaptive Engine Technology Program (AETP) HSE Turbine hardware. HSE is responsible for all of the engineering activities for the Combustor/Diffuser, High Pressure Turbine, Low Pressure Turbine, and Exhaust Systems across all of P&W’s product lines. The Project Discipline Manager is an integral part of the HSE leadership team and serves as the direct line supervisor for a team of project engineers.

This Project Discipline Manager position supports one or more Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs). As part of the CIPT Leadership team, the Project Discipline Manager ensures technical excellence, task execution and supports manpower planning. This position will be responsible for developing and sustaining hardware to meet or exceed module and system requirements and will work collaboratively to solve problems with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and system design teams.

The Project Discipline Manager is responsible for:

• Ensuring the successful execution of P&W’s engineering process, Engineering Standard Work (ESW)

• Task schedule, resource and budget management

• Supervision and talent development of 6 direct report project engineers

• Oversight of project engineering work executed by outsource vendors

• Advancement of the project discipline

• Continuous improvement of project engineering tools and procedures to advance the project discipline

Qualification:

A minimum of six (6) years of experience in industry required. Strong proficiency and a demonstrated record of accomplishments in the project discipline is expected. Proven history in leading or materially contributing to component and/or system root cause and/or safety investigations is preferred. Good communication and leadership skills are essential to be successful in this role. Certification in ACE or six-sigma as well as the ability to attain security clearance would benefit the candidate.
