Hot Section Engineering (HSE) at Pratt & Whitney is currently looking for an experienced and highly-motivated Durability Engineer to join its team as a Commercial Engines Durability Supervisor. In this role, the Durability engineering supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in completing technical assessments and analyses necessary to support design, development, validation, production implementation and management of new commercial jet engines.
In this role, the durability engineer will lead and directly supervise a small durability team. The supervisor is expected to provide technical, program and team leadership across the suite of hot section parts including combustors, turbines and other flow path hardware. The supervisor will be responsible for Engineering Standard Work (ESW) execution as well as continuous improvement and coordination with other disciplines and organizations. The durability team is responsible for completing technical assessments and analyses necessary to support the design, development, validation, production implementation and management of advanced and operational engines flying across the globe. The durability discipline is highly-specialized with particular focus on advanced cooling designs, aerodynamics, heat transfer, coatings, high-temperature aerospace alloys and manufacturing. Mentoring, coaching and career development for direct reports is a key part for the role.

A minimum of six (6) years of experience in industry required. Strong proficiency and a demonstrated record of accomplishments in durability or related discipline (aerodynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, mathematics, computational modeling, coatings, aerospace materials, manufacturing) is expected. Good communication and leadership skills are essential to be successful in this role.
