Job Description

The Military Customer Support Engineering organization has a high visibility Manager opportunity to lead the F100 Systems and Controls team. This key position will lead a diverse team responsible for resolving all F100 engine operational and control issues for the worldwide fleet.

  • Manage systems and controls investigations including internal and external communication

  • Represent F100 Systems and Controls team at high level briefings

  • Drive timely and effective root cause investigations and corrective action implementation

  • Lead safety and reliability management activities

  • Supervise daily activities and maintain a high level of employee engagement

  • Develop and advance employee proficiency levels

  • Develop and ensure effective use of standard work in all processes

  • Oversee the development of fault isolation / diagnostic systems for F100 engine program

  • Develop fault isolation performance metrics using closed loop analysis of failure symptoms, maintenance and identified root cause

  • Drive continuous improvement actions to address individual fault isolation/diagnostic system issues or metrics opportunities.

  • Work with value stream partners such as PSA, CIPT, SDCI to address customer issues and process improvements

  • Develop methods to provide rapid response to anomalies identified (working with the tools and constraints of various customers)

  • Develop and implement logistics plans for corrective actions in the field

  • Coordinate activity to resolve issues affecting engine readiness and customer satisfaction

  • Manage the maintenance awareness and periodic engineering excellence review program

  • Actively participate in the ACE process


Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in engineering or related technical field

  • Five or more years of related experience

  • Five years’ experience in hardware investigations and failure analysis

  • US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical knowledge of F100 engine systems and controls to include operation, troubleshooting, and performance

  • Familiarity with F100 jet engine hardware and maintenance

  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership to a diverse group of people in high pressure and sensitive environments

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and teaming abilities together with good written and oral communication skills

  • Seven or more years of related experience

  • Understanding of USAF tech data structure and usage

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS office preferred
