Job Description:

  • Provide ethics & compliance leadership and support Global Ethics & Compliance organization for P&W Quality organization and in other quality related matters.

  • Serve as an interpretive resource to employees regarding ethics and compliance issues, specifically to include interpretation of the UTC Code of Ethics and UTC Policies.

  • Participate in the Coordination and execution of training on Quality Cardinal Rules and Ethics & Compliance, including all levels of management and employees,

  • Support compliance monitoring activities, including audits and self-evaluations;

  • Compile and assess data regarding program activities, including information related to training and information related to allegations and investigations;

  • Share information with other ethics and compliance professionals, management and the functional disciplines (as appropriate), regarding trends and risk areas associated with compliance and ethics.

  • As applicable, investigate, and coordinate and oversee the independent investigation of alleged violations of the Quality Cardinal Rules and the Code of Ethics, utilizing or relying on (as appropriate) the efforts of other departments or outside resources;

  • Assure that allegations of retaliation, brought by an employee or supplier who has raised a question or concern, are appropriately investigated and, if warranted, corrected and resolved;

  • Participate in the review process for corrective actions for Quality Cardinal Rules and Code of Ethics violations, in consultation and coordination with the Human Resources Department, the Legal Department, and others in management;

  • Perform to a standard of excellence, setting a personal example of exemplary conduct

  • Participate in / assist in preparation of the Quality Compliance Council Meetings

  • Participate in Quality investigations and improvement activities

  • Follow up on Corrective actions tied to Investigations / Disclosures

  • Assist Legal with preparation and review of disclosures to the United States Government

  • Lead investigations into escapes and non-compliances to determine root cause, identifying robust corrective actions and tracking effectiveness

  • Support risk assessments and mitigation activities.

  • Seek continuous improvement and use ACE tools to analyze past events (including root causes) in order to improve systems and controls.

  • Support the Senior Ethics & Compliance Officer for Quality and the P&W Global Ethics & Compliance Officer in the performance of other tasks as assigned.

Experience / Qualifications

6 - 8+ years in relevant, Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering position

Methodical with a working knowledge of P&W Management System.

Strong Quality System knowledge

Approachable, discrete, and non-threatening

Knowledgeable of the organization's values and principles

Objective, fair and sound judgment

Honest, direct and straightforward in communications

Positioned to make independent judgments

Ability to influence actions, decisions and to drive change

Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels through the organization.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, strong presentation, planning, problem solving, organizational, project management and decision-making skills.

Command of the English language

Computer skills – Proficiency in Word, Powerpoint, Excel, SAP – a plus

Understanding of AS 9100

Must be a US Citizen

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required/ Masters Preferred

Qualification:

6 - 8+ years in relevant, Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering position
