Job Description

The position supports the VP Technology & Environment across a wide cross section of P&W’s business activities including: advanced technology, technology and strategic planning, sustainability, environmental regulation, and communications. Duties may include: assist in preparation and public release of speeches, articles, congressional testimony, etc.; environmental regulation of products and processes; special projects on sustainability; special projects on advanced technology; studies on strategic directions; collaboration with P&W communications and sales organizations on messaging; collaboration with P&W and UTC EH&S organizations on sustainability; and other duties as assigned. A major emphasis is on exploring new opportunities and challenges that technology and environmental concerns may present to P&W. The job requires the ability to quickly learn new technical areas, policy, business, and regulatory concepts; to work independently; to manage small programs and lead small teams; to collaborate with all parts of the P&W and external organizations. The ability to innovate within the P&W/UTC environment is very valuable. This is a jack-of-all trades position requiring strong technical, communications, and adaptability competencies, as well as a demonstrated results focus and ability to handle last minute changes to deadline commitments.

Education & Certifications

BS degree in engineering w/10+ years’ experience or a MS degree

Experience & Qualifications

7+ Years Experience, 5+ Years in PW Engineering function


· BA/BS in an engineering discipline w/6–10+ years’ experience

·MA/MS in an engineering discipline w/4–7+ years’ experience

·PhD in an engineering discipline w/2–4+ years’ experience
