The Quality Assurance organization has an opportunity for an individual to join the Program Quality management team as a CIPT Quality Leader. The successful candidate will lead and support activities to engage internal organizations, internal and external producers to high levels of quality performance related to the product development, certification and production and to be an integral member on a designated CIPT as the quality focal point.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include the following across the 5 stages of the IPD process (PW 1.5) :

Driving the organization for initial Product producability assessment, review and incorporate Supply Chain & Quality historical data and lessons learned into designs; provide these findings to various IPTs, process Design deliverables (Process Map, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Packaging, etc..); all Process and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA and PFMEA) risks mitigation plans quality processes continuous Improvement.Leading efforts for risk assessment to identify the systems, assemblies, and components within the preliminary BOM for the application of APQP Phases 2, 3, and 4; inspection readiness plans identified that support development program schedule; quality-related program risk identified

including technical, product cost, producability, schedule, validation, partner and budget; concept defined capable of meeting technical, manufacturing, quality and producibility requirements including product cost; inspection readiness plans identified that support

development program schedule; assess the feasibility of the proposed design and document that the proposed design can be manufactured, assembled, tested, packaged, and delivered in sufficient quantity on schedule at an acceptable cost; actions and identified risks documented and addressed; manufacturing process integration and documentation; implementation of effective Engineering Escape RCCA, and effective Mfg Escape CA (Engineering actions); tracking and resolution as needed; Quality Assurance Data (QAD) requirements planning and tracking; Manufacturing part requirements (cost, schedule, process); risk mitigation planning; publishing of program focused quality metrics. Provide input and support the CIPT on targets for product safety, performance, quality/manufacturability, reliability, and service life; technology and manufacturing development plans identified that support development program schedule; technical contract review with supplier to confirm Purchase Order, Drawing & Quality requirements and to evaluate the Supplier’s ProCert / PPAP plan; the organization shall review and evaluate risk associated with the preliminary sourcing plan which considers risk associated with technology, logistics, lead-time, obsolescence, authenticity (counterfeit parts prevention), etc.; production readiness assessments; manufacturing readiness; EIS support plans; specifications and work instructions; Modules, engines, and/or power systems built to the production BOM; Modules, engines, or power systems production test is conducted for delivery units as required.

Education Requirements:

Bachelors Degree Required, Engineering, Quality Systems Management Degree or appropriate manufacturing

operations discipline preferred.

Preferred: M.S. Engineering, Math/Statistics or Industrial Management: M.B.A.

Work Experience Requirements: Sound business judgment, strong organization, leadership, team building, interpersonal, communications, writing and presentation skills are required for success.

A working understanding of quality system requirements, knowledge of AS9100 requirements, and a thorough knowledge of the ACE operating system or similar continuous improvement methodology are essential.

A demonstrated performance of past productivity and a high degree of computer literacy is also required.

A broad knowledge of the quality, engineering, procurement, & manufacturing disciplines is necessary.

This person must have the capability and personal skills to interface seamlessly with all levels of P&W Management within quality, in other (external) organizations, and major business units (PW and UTC wide).

7 - 10 years of quality assurance, manufacturing operations, or engineering experience with special emphasis on those processes and procedures associated with direct part producer support; knowledge of the P&W Quality Management System and supplier quality management systems are preferred.
