The Associate Engineer - Systems Optimization/Propulsion Concepts position is a challenging and rewarding entry-level role for the right candidate. The Associate Engineer is a member of the Systems Optimization team in Advanced Programs whose responsibility is to utilize Multi-Disciplinary Analysis and Optimization (MDAO) tools to assist in the creation and evaluation of next-generation propulsion concepts. The Associate Engineer works across internal groups and disciplines to collect data that feeds these conceptual models. The Associate Engineer processes this data and converts it to inputs and sensitivities for the assessment and optimization process. The Associate Engineer subsequently conducts analyses as part of the team and evaluates these system-level concepts in terms of system performance, design trades and a variety of engine metrics. Concept assessments are performed across a wide range of commercial and military aircraft applications.

Education: Candidates should have a good fundamental understanding of engineering topics commensurate with a B.S. degree. Experience in industry through an internship or co-op with benefit the candidates. Familiarity with MDAO methods, pertinent software and advanced flight vehicle or propulsion systems would be a plus.

Security clearance or the ability to secure clearance are enablers but not a prerequisite for the role.
